Bertrand De la Borde

Bertrand De la Borde is the Global Director for Transport and Logistics at the World Bank Group.

Mr. De la Borde has over 30 years of experience in infrastructure finance and has played a leading role in the development of innovative and landmark public-private partnerships across all five continents. He joined IFC in 2007, following four years with Proparco and 11 years with Société Générale in Paris, where he served as Head of Infrastructure for Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. From 2010 to 2018, he led IFC’s Africa infrastructure team, tripling its activity under his leadership. He later served as IFC’s Global Head for Energy and Mining until 2023, and as Global Head for Infrastructure from 2023 to 2026. He is a graduate of École Centrale de Paris and holds a master’s degree in engineering, specializing in finance.
