Aradhana Kumar-Capoor​ is WBG Vice President and Corporate Secretary of the World Bank Group. In her role, Ms. Kumar-Capoor’s primary responsibilities are to ensure the integrity of the World Bank Group’s governance framework; facilitate effective interaction and dialogue between the Board of Governors, Boards of Executive Directors and Management of the institution; contribute to consensus building among shareholders; and provide support services to the Boards, management and other clients.

Prior to this, she was Director and General Counsel of the Multilateral Investment Guarantee Agency (MIGA), the political risk insurance and credit enhancement arm of the World Bank Group. Ms. Kumar-Capoor had overall responsibility for MIGA’s Legal Affairs and Claims Group, including eligibility and deal structure, contract negotiation and drafting, dispute resolution and claims management.

Ms. Kumar-Capoor previously served as Chief Advisor to the Executive Vice President & CEO of MIGA and prior to that was Chief Counsel at MIGA. Ms. Kumar-Capoor has over 30 years of experience in complex infrastructure, finance, telecom and oil, gas and mining transactions. 

Before joining MIGA, Ms.Kumar-Capoor worked as a corporate and transaction attorney with major law firms in the United States and in India concentrating on project finance, structured finance and risk mitigation. She holds a law degree in international business law and a master’s degree in international relations. She is admitted to the bar in New York and in New Delhi. She has also taught a course on International Business Transactions at Georgetown University Law Center.
