Achim Fock is the Division Director for the Caribbean, leading strategic engagement and the operational portfolio across Caribbean countries. Achim leads on strategic engagements and oversees financing as well as analytical and advisory work.
Prior to this assignment, Achim was the Country Manager for Zambia and previously, Operations Manager for Brunei, Malaysia, the Philippines and Thailand and, before that, for Vietnam.
He has more than 25 years of professional experience with the World Bank, having managed the Development Effectiveness Unit for South Asia and as Senior Economist for several countries in Africa, East Asia and Eastern Europe.
A German national, Achim obtained Masters degrees in agricultural science and in agricultural economics from, respectively, the Christian-Albrechts-University Kiel and the University of Reading, a post-graduate diploma in European integration and international economics from the University of Hamburg, and a PhD in agricultural economics from Martin-Luther-University Halle-Wittenberg.
