Mr. Harold TAVARES to Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates

As the Executive Director for Africa Group II, Harold Tavares attended The CHAD CONNEXION 2030 Forum, held on November 10–11, 2025 in Abu Dhabi. This event brought together influential leaders and decision-makers to advance Chad’s development agenda. The summit was chaired by President Mahamat Idriss Deby Itno of Chad and Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed AlNahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, with distinguished participation from President Faure Gnassingbé of Togo, Prime Minister Ali Mahamane Lamine Zeine of Niger, and Nigeria’s Finance Minister Adebayo Olawale Edun.
This landmark event provided a platform for technical and financial partners to align with Chad’s National Development Plan, “Chad Connexion 2030,” and pledge for additional support. Notably, the World Bank Group committed $2.1 billion to accelerate private investment, strengthen workforce skills, and expand opportunities for youth – demonstrating a strong collective commitment to Chad’s future.
