This assignment aims to conduct the climate and geohazard risk assessment on the power sector infrastructure in disaster-prone areas of the Dominican Republic (DR); identify resilience solutions and measures through pre-feasibility studies and the cost-benefit analysis; and provide knowledge and international best practices on regulations and standards on climate-resilient power infrastructure and capacity building to the relevant stakeholders in the DR. The study will help the Government of the Dominican Republic develop and fill the gap in the information and geospatial database of climate risks and geohazards and vulnerabilities of the power system; strengthen the national capacity of disaster risk management; inform future investments; and build the climate resilience of the power infrastructure in the DR.
