Recruitment Support or Adjustments?

Recruitment adjustments ensure equitable access for all candidates throughout the recruitment process.

You can request recruitment adjustments when applying or at any point during the recruitment process. If you’re scheduled for a technical assessment or interview, our Accommodation Coordinators will contact you to understand your needs and arrange appropriate support.

Examples of recruitment accommodations include:

  • Extra time for assessments and/or interviews
  • Flexible scheduling
  • Accessible content formats
  • Automated captions or real-time transcription
  • Sign language interpretation

Note: These adjustments apply to the recruitment process. Workplace accommodations will be addressed separately for candidates who are hired.

Workplace Accommodations

Workplace accommodations refer to adjustments that enable staff to perform their essential core functions of their role effectively.

The World Bank Group’s Accommodations Center of Excellence supports staff and candidates with disabilities, medical conditions, or injuries by facilitating individualized accommodations in a confidential manner.

Examples of workplace accommodations include:

  • Assistive technologies
  • Modified or ergonomic workspaces
  • Flexible work hours or telework options
  • Accessible communication tools and formats
Workplace accommodations support staff in performing their roles effectively.

Testimonial

“The WBG has equipped me with adaptive technology that is essential for my work, such as voice dictation software, which I use to prepare memos and financing agreements. I am grateful for the accommodations and tools that enable me to succeed.”

Matthieu Bonvoisin, Senior Counsel from the Legal Team in Paris

A Culture of Awareness & Inclusion

WBG managers and teams have access to disability inclusion learning modules and ongoing training that encourage an inclusive workplace and enable them to confidently support staff who may need accommodations.

Our Disability Advocacy and Resource Employee Group (DARE) champions accessibility and provides peer support. DARE works closely with our Human Resources team to ensure staff needs are met and their voices heard.
