RESOURCE PERSONSProf. Antonio Ma. C. PEREZ Professor Antonio Ma. C. Perez is the Fuji Xerox Foundation Professor of Total Quality Management. He is part of the core faculty of the Institute's Executive Education Programs. He is also teaches Quantitative Analysis and Operations Management in the Master in Business Management Program. Prior to joining AIM, he was a regular lecturer in Operations Management and Decision Analysis in the MBA program of the Malaysian Institute of Management in Kuala Lumpur as well as in Management Science and Operations Management at the Ateneo Graduate School of Business. He was a lecturer in Quantitative Methods at the National Defense College of the Philippines. His business career began in 1965 as an Engineer of Reyes and Lim Company, a firm engaged in ship design, where he was designated as the shipowner's representative in various Japanese shipyards. From 1976-1979, he was Corporate Officer (Assistant Treasurer) and Group Head of Financial Engineering Department of Bancom Development Corporation. He later joined PNOC-PetroPhil Corporation as Assistant Manager of the Corporate Planning Department. He was a UNIDO consultant for manufacturing strategy in the Advanced Management Program in 1991 held in Kuala Lumpur. In 1965, he graduated with a BSME degree from the University of the Philippines where he started his teaching career as instructor in Mechanical Engineering until 1971. Subsequently, he took up a two-year graduate course in Naval Architecture and Shipbuilding Technology at Kyushu University in Japan under the Mombusho Scholarship Program. In 1984, he underwent a teacher training program in Manufacturing Management at INSEAD, one of Europe's leading business schools, under the EEC-ASEAN Scholarship program. He took up a graduate course in Project Appraisal and Management at HIID, Harvard University under the USAID Faculty Development Program in 1991. In 1997, he completed a course in Systems Dynamics at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Professor Perez obtained his MBA degree from the University of California Los Angeles (UCLA) with major in Management Information Systems.
