Only the beginning...

What is new today is that we have the capacity to take advantage of a whole range of technical capabilities that did not exist in the past to transfer that knowledge as an essential tool for development. This knowledge originates in many places. It comes from the Bank, but it is also found in the experiences of all those in the Mediterranean region: from governments to academics, from think tanks to individuals. In the Mediterranean Development Forum a partnership is being formed to bring together these various sources of knowledge, all of which are so essential to effect and promote development. In this Forum, the Bank’s role has been one of a catalyst. However, this is only the beginning, not the end of a process.
