National

     Morocco

  • The Government of Morocco has given high priority to improving rural transport and has placed emphasis on monitoring the impact of doing so. The MA-RURAL ROADS Project, which was approved in June 2004, aims to increase rural populations' access to roads, especially in the more disadvantaged provinces, by supporting a national program of road improvements and through strengthening institutional capacity. A summary of the project is available at the World Bank Projects and Operations Database Webpage. The Project Appraisal Document (PDF 6 MB) may also be downloaded here.

  • A Second Rural Road Project, MA-RURAL ROADS II, was approved in May 2006. The development objective of the Second Rural Roads Project is to increase rural populations' access to all-weather roads by supporting the first Phase of the Government's Second National Program of Rural Roads (NPRR-2). A summary of the project is available at the World Bank Projects and Operations Database Webpage. The Project Appraisal Document (PDF 12 MB) may also be downloaded here.
