Opening & Closing Ceremonies, and Plenary Sessions for MDF4 The opening ceremony, plenaries, and closing ceremony were scheduled in coordination with workshop schedules so all participants could attend. The sessions were held to draw together some of the region's and the world's most acclaimed thinkers and doers to present and discuss specific socio-economic issues facing the region.
The Opening Ceremony The opening ceremony will focus on the future of the MENA region. The ceremony will address the prospects for internal cooperation and synergies, its place in the world and the prospects for better understanding and dialogue between MENA and the rest of the world, and its crucial need to explore the relationships between regional development and culture and globalization. The opening ceremony and MDF4 will be under the patronage of His Majesty the King of Jordan. Keynote Speakers:

Key donors such as Sweden and Italy, the largest donors after the World Bank group, will be recognized for their important contribution. Plenary I : MENA at the Crossroads This first plenary will set the stage for the entire conference by offering diverse views on the future of the MENA region in light of global realities and prospects. It will emphasize key dimensions such as equitable growth, poverty alleviation, and participation of all actors in society in the decision making process as well as in the fruits of progress. The speakers will recognize the positive features of the region, including relative equality, rich natural resources, demographic transition, and progress on the human development front. At the same time, they will highlight the challenges facing the region in achieving sufficiently high growth rates to generate decent jobs, creating more democratic societies, and addressing issues of social justice, including closing the gender gap. The two speakers will give complementary perspectives, from inside and from outside the region. An MDF partner will conclude by giving the audience the "road map" for the rest of the forum. Chairman:
