Bulgarian 1997 Integrated Household Survey

The Bulgarian 1997 Integrated Household Survey (IHS) is a nationally representative, multi-purpose household survey which contains information on a series of subjects including (but not limited to) household composition, education, health, fertility, expenditures, employment and other income earning activities. The primary objective of the survey is to allow detailed analysis of the standard of living of the Bulgarian population in general and of the poor in particular.

The survey is almost identical to the Bulgaria 1995 Integrated Household Survey.  Like the earlier survey, this survey was administered by Gallup International under the auspices of the Bulgarian Ministry of Labor, the Social Affairs and the National Institute of Statistic.  Little documentation for the 1997 survey is available, but interested users can download the documentation from the 1995 survey for additional information.

All data files and available supporting documentation can be downloaded from the site. To obtain the data, first read the sections describing the formats of the data and documentation, then fill in the 'Data Use Agreement Form', and finally download the data and documents.
