To properly view World Bank pages that use Cyrillic characters, you need to install Cyrillic fonts on your computer and configure your internet browser to use those fonts when displaying a page in Cyrillic. Depending on your operating system and browser, this process may occur automatically. If it does not, and the page appears as a series of nonsense characters, please follow the instructions below.
The World Bank uses Windows - 1251 Cyrillic encoding. You may download the following free Cyrillic fonts to view Windows-1251 encoding. The font are self-extracting archives.

Once the fonts are downloaded and de-compressed, you need to install them on your system. In Windows 3.1, open the Control Panel, click on Fonts, and click "Add Font." In Windows 95/NT, place in the fonts in the C:/Windows/Fonts directory. You may need to quit all active programs or restart your computer in order for the system to recognize the presence of the new fonts.
Once the fonts are installed on your system, you will need to configure your web browser to use them when the browser encounters a page in Cyrillic. Configuration varies from browser to browser. In general, go to "Preferences" or "Options" and choose "Fonts". Under the heading for Cyrillic, choose "ER Bukinist" as the variable-width font and "ER Kurier" as the fixed-width font. Your system should then be able to properly read pages in Windows-1251 Cyrillic encoding.
