The 2018 Spring Meetings of the World Bank shone the spotlight on big ideas on accelerating growth, building resilience, and investing in people, all towards ending extreme poverty and creating opportunities for all. Leaders from government, private-sector, CSOs and more gathered to share ideas and move forward on tackling pressing issues in development, finance, inclusion, and climate, to name a few. The Spring Meetings were the place to form new partnerships and strengthen existing ones. And the meetings produced big news, like the first ever US$1.5 billion IDA bond, and a paid-in capital increase to the World Bank and IFC of US$13 billion that means more innovative financing for development projects.
