More than half of Nepal's roads are impassable in the rainy season. Through all-season roads built with IDA funding travel times dropped by upto 79%, connecting remote rural villages.
The International Develepment Association, IDA, is the World Bank's Fund for the Poorest. One of the world's largest sources of aid, IDA provides support for health and education, infrastructure and agriculture, and economic and institutional development to the 79 poorest countries. These countries are home to 2.5 billion people, 1.5 billion of whom survive on $2 a day or less.
