World Bank Managing Director Meets with Prime Minister of Ukraine

Washington, DC, June 17, 2016 - During the meeting with Prime Minister Groysman on June 16 in Washington, DC, World Bank Managing Director Sri Mulyani Indrawati confirmed the Bank’s commitment to support the country’s ambitious reform program, including the financial, fiscal, energy, social protection and other sectors.

One specific area of assistance that was discussed during the meeting was the development of a strategy for critical transport corridors in Ukraine to promote economic activity and connectivity.

The details of the Bank’s future support program in Ukraine will be further discussed in the process of development of the Systematic Country Diagnostic - a comprehensive analysis of economic conditions, challenges, and constraints the country faces in the short and medium term, as well as the upcoming discussion on the new Country Partnership Framework, which will define the World Bank Group assistance in Ukraine in the medium term.
