PERU –Integrated Health Networks Project

WASHINGTON, January 31, 2019 - The World Bank’s Board of Executive Directors today approved the following project:

PERU –Integrated Health Networks Project

  • International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (IBRD) Loan: US $125 million equivalent
  • Terms: Maturity = 5 years
  • Project ID: P163255

Project Description:  

The objectives of the Integrated Health Networks Project are to improve the resolutive capacity and quality of public first-level health services in Churcampa (Huancavelica), Tarapoto (San Martín) Ica, Tumbes, Piura, La Libertad, Loreto, Tacna and Lima´s metropolitan area, and to increase the capacity of the Single Health Information System and the public sector’s pharmaceutical products and medical supplies provision system. The program will contribute to the adequate provision of timely, appropriate, efficient and high-quality services in first- level IPRESS owned by MINSA and the GOREs.  The Project will contribute to the higher-level objective of decreasing the burden of disease for the Peruvian population that does not have access to health services through social security or private health insurance, which is estimated in 20 million people.
