Project Description: The objective of the project is to improve the basic welfare and social well-being of extremely poor families with children in selected localities in Nicaragua. The additional funding will benefit 20,000 Nicaraguan families living in extreme poverty; help strengthen the capacity of the Ministry of the Family, Youth and Children to implement the family and community-based social welfare model; and promote pre-school and primary school attendance through the provision of school lunches.
