Emissions Reductions Payment Agreement (ERPA)

In 2019, Mozambique signed a landmark agreement with the World Bank’s Forest Carbon Partnership Facility that rewards community efforts to reduce carbon emissions by tackling deforestation and forest degradation. The Emissions Reductions Payment Agreement (ERPA) unlocks up to $50 million until 2024 that will help communities, government and stakeholders working to reduce deforestation and forest degradation in the province of Zambézia.
