Impact Evaluation Workshop

The World Bank's Strategic Impact Evaluation Fund (SIEF) and the Ethiopian Country Management Unit co-organized a four-day training workshop for local policy makers and project teams to improve understanding of impact evaluations and the use of evidence generated for more effective programs and policies.

The World Bank's Strategic Impact Evaluation Fund (SIEF) and the Ethiopian Country Management Unit co-organized a four-day training workshop for local policy makers and project teams to improve understanding of impact evaluations and the use of evidence generated for more effective programs and policies.

The workshop in Debre Zeit, Ethiopia was attended by 57 participants representing four project teams. Local policy makers, government officials and World Bank country staff joined the workshop to learn more about impact evaluation, as well as how to incorporate impact evaluation research into their projects’ designs and to work on specific evaluation plans.

The workshop included new and updated training materials and videos. Instructional animations on “what is an impact evaluation” and “how to randomize” were featured, along with a short video on the impact of a conditional cash transfer program in Cambodia, a preschool program in Mozambique, a short video on the importance of impact evaluations, a video on surveys, as well as an infographic.
