HAITI: Clean water, improved sanitation, better health

This event will bring together the international community to combat water borne diseases like cholera in Haiti and raise commitments to provide water, sanitation and health services in cholera hot spots over the next three years.

Haiti’s fight against cholera has made significant progress. Still, more than 30 people get infected every day and water borne diseases remain one of the leading causes of child mortality.

In collaboration with the Government of Haiti, the UN and development partners, the World Bank is hosting a high-level conference on “Haiti: Clean Water, Improved Sanitation, Better Health” in Washington D.C. on October 9, 2014.

This event will bring together the international community to combat water borne diseases like cholera in Haiti and raise commitments to provide water, sanitation and health services in cholera hot spots over the next three years.

Opening session:  October 9, 10:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m.
Partnership Roundtable: 11:20 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.
