The purpose of this Europe and Central Asia Forum was to share emerging knowledge on improving the implementation of social protection programs and delivering effective services through establishing robust Management Information Systems (MIS) and Information Technology (IT) solutions.

The Forum presented a framework for assessment and design of MIS solutions, application of appropriate IT options for the organization of data about beneficiaries, recommendations on administrative innovations, and issues in procurement of IT services. The event also included presentations of cases from the participating countries and demonstrations of live systems. Representatives from countries in the Europe and Central Asia region included prominent practitioners and program administrators.
