Following on from last year's Bank Resolution conference, the Vienna Financial Sector Advisory Centre (FinSAC) hosted a one-day regional Bank Recovery and Resolution (BRR) seminar in the Vienna office on December 5, 2013. Almost 50 participants from central banks, supervisory bodies, deposit insurance agencies and Ministries of Finance regulators, representing around 12 countries in the region, attended the event.

The agenda consisted of three panels:

1. An update on regulatory initiatives by the ECB, EU and EBA;
2. Speakers from new EU member states sharing their experiences in designing a BRR framework and their implementation challenges;
3. Authorities in the Western Balkans presenting their current challenges in this area.
