Poland joined the World Bank in 1946 as a founding member, and then withdrew in 1950 to re-join in 1986. Lending commenced in 1990 and has led to improvements in areas such as environment, health, transportation and infrastructure, state-owned enterprise restructuring and privatization. The current four-year Country Partnership Strategy (CPS) sets out the country context, country development program, and the envisaged World Bank Group program for Poland for the period 2014 – 17.
