The project aims at substantially increasing the supply of natural gas to industrial, commercial and residential consumers in Sao Paulo by 1995, and at strengthening... Show More + the Companhia de gas de Sao Paulo (COMGAS) to enable it to fulfill its expanded role. The project will comprise: (i) supplies, civil works, and engineering for expansion of COMGAS' existing network, and supplies and works for conversion of consumer installations from other fuels to natural gas; (iii) telemetry equipment for remote control of COMGAS' network; (iv) technical assistance for conversion of the network and customer installations; and (v) training of COMGAS' managerial and operational staff in natural gas related planning, technical, marketing, and financial aspects.
