Sylvie Dossou is the World Bank Country Manager for Gabon and Equatorial Guinea. As such, she handles the relationship between the two governments and the World Bank, and conducts day-to-day dialogue with members of the government, civil society, and the donor community. Mrs. Dossou is responsible for developing the country strategies for both countries and oversees the implementation of World Bank projects in Gabon and Equatorial Guinea.
Prior to joining the World Bank, Mrs. Dossou worked in the private sector leading operations for the auditing firm Ernst Young International in Senegal. She also worked for the United Nations in Rwanda, Haiti, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Kenya and New York where she was in charge of designing, implementing and monitoring development projects in vulnerable communities. She was also Country Manager of the United Nations International Children’s Emergency Fund in Ivory Coast.
Sylvie Dossou joined the World Bank Group in 2011, as Country Manager for the Republic of Congo. A graduate from Sciences Po Paris in economics and finance, Sylvie Dossou holds a master’s degree in business law from the Paris I Sorbonne University and a master's degree from the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy in Boston.
