Madzarevic-Sujster has led several development policy loans in Croatia and currently is co-leading one for Montenegro. She has co-authored the recent Public Finance Review as well as the Country Economic Memorandum for Montenegro. With other economists in the region she co-authored the Southeast Europe regular economic reports since 2011.
Areas of her research focus on macroeconomics and fiscal policy, governance, EU integration, social sectors, underground economy and tax policy.
Madzarevic-Sujster holds a position of a Senior Country Economist for Croatia and Montenegro and works on other Central and Eastern Europe and Southeast Europe countries as well. She joined the World Bank in 1999 as an economist. From December 2006 to June 2007, she was the Acting Country Manager for the World Bank Croatia Office.
Before joining the Bank, Madzarevic-Sujster worked as the Head of Unit for Macroeconomic Analysis in the Ministry of Finance, Croatia, and the Research Fellow and Advisor in the Institute for Macroeconomic Analysis and Forecasts, Croatia.
Madzarevic-Sujster also held an associate lecturer position at the Public Finance cathedra at the Zagreb School of Economics and Management from 2003-2007 and was a visiting scholar at the Faculty of Economics, University of Zagreb from 1999-2001.
Madzarevic-Sujster holds an M.Sc. in Economics from the University of Zagreb, Faculty of Economics with her PhD at the University of Split in progress. She took a number of professional courses in the London School of Economics, Joint Vienna Institute, WIFO - Vienna, World Bank Institute - Washington.
