Patrick Osewe


Patrick L. Osewe is Lead Health Specialist for the Southern Africa region of the World Bank. Based in South Africa, he provides technical assistance and operational support to health projects across the region. Prior to his posting in South Africa, Patrick was a Senior Health Specialist with the World Bank Institute specializing in building the capacity of client countries and World Bank, UNAIDS, UNDP, WHO, UNESCO and ILO on results based management.

His interests and experience are in the areas of improving the effectiveness of public health spending, health system reform, and capacity building for results-based decision making. Patrick holds an MD from University of Nairobi and an M.P.H. from the Harvard School of Public Health.

He has previously worked for USAID and the CDC as well as with different UN agencies—in many different parts of the world. He has also served as a faculty member of some of the world’s leading universities
