Julian Lampietti coordinates the Sustainable Development Program in Argentina, Paraguay and Argentina. This includes business development, client relations, and oversight for analytical and advisory services as well as a $3.5 billion portfolio of loans in agriculture, water, energy, transport, environment and urban practices.
Prior to taking up his assignment in Argentina three years ago, Julian was a lead economist in the Middle East and North Africa region, working primarily on issues related to food security and infrastructure. Julian also has experience working with middle income countries in Europe and Central Asia.
He has published books and journal articles on a broad range of topics including poverty, economics, agriculture, food security, logistics, and energy. He has a PhD in Public Policy from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a Master’s in Natural Resources Economics from Duke University.
