Jiwanka joined the World Bank in 2004 as a Financial Management Specialist to oversee projects across the Bank’s portfolios in Sri Lanka and Maldives. She has also been involved in working towards strengthening country public financial management systems and enhancing private sector accounting and reporting via World Bank’s lending operations, knowledge sharing and learning events and Analytical and Advisory Activities (AAA). Jiwanka also plays an active role in quality assurance and effective functioning of the South Asia Region Financial Management Unit.
Prior to joining the Bank, Jiwanka has worked in the private sector in the field of financial and management accounting in Sri Lanka and Australia. Jiwanka is a Fellow member of the Association of Certified Chartered Accountants (ACCA) UK and an Associate member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) UK.
