Operations Manager for Central Asia

Indu John-Abraham is the World Bank Operations Manager for Central Asia based in Almaty, Kazakhstan. Prior to this position, she was the Country Manager for the Bolivia Country Office. She has been working for the World Bank since 2003, when she joined the Civil Society Team under the Poverty Reduction and Economic Management Department for the Latin America and Caribbean Region (LCR). Subsequently, she worked in operations for the Poverty, Gender, and Equity Unit in LCR. Most recently, she served as the Resident Representative of the World Bank in Ecuador.

Ms. John-Abraham has extensive experience in Latin America and the Caribbean, particularly in the Andean Region, where she has collaborated with countries including Bolivia, Peru, and Colombia, providing technical support on issues of monitoring, supervision, and evaluation systems.  She has also worked on gender issues, particularly in Brazil.

Before joining the World Bank, Ms. John-Abraham worked with Catholic Relief Services in Armenia, Dominican Republic, and at its headquarters in Baltimore.  She has a Master’s Degree in International Relations from John Hopkins University.
