Florentina Mulaj is the Program Manager for the Development Impact Umbrella Facility (i2i), a global multi-donor Trust Fund in the World Bank’s Development Impact (DIME) department aimed at generating high-quality and operationally-relevant data and research to improve development effectiveness. The program conducts research in over 60 countries with 200 agencies leveraging a $180M research budget to shape the design and implementation of $26 billion in development finance. The recent i2i report Driving Revolutionary Ideas into Practice showcases how investments in trial-and-adopt technology have transformed the development impact potential of projects across sectors. DIME is widely recognized as a global leader in co-producing rigorous policy and operations-driven research to enhance development impact. The department comprises a diverse team of research economists, data scientists, analysts, and operational staff dedicated to actively advancing scientific and operational knowledge through rigorous research programs that span all development sectors. Florentina is also the Program Manager for the World Bank Robert S. McNamara Fellowships Program (RSMFP) providing opportunities for promising young researchers to work on World Bank policy-relevant research projects and advance their technical skills through structured training. Prior to joining DIME, Florentina managed an impact evaluation program for financial literacy and education in the World Bank’s Social Protection department. She has a Master’s in Public Affairs (MPA) from Princeton University and an undergraduate in International Relations and Economics from Saint Joseph’s University.
