Evgenij Najdov

Senior Economist for Georgia, East Asia and Pacific

Evgenij Najdov is a Senior Economist with the World Bank office in Tbilisi, Georgia.  Prior to joining the Tbilisi office, he was based in Vientiane, Laos, primarily focusing on issues of growth and macroeconomic and structural policies. He was also previously based in Almaty, Kazakhstan where he was the country economist for the Kyrgyz Republic, providing support to the Kazakhstan program and working on Central Asia regional trade and cooperation issues. Previously, he was the World Bank country economist for Macedonia, covering the policy dialogue on macroeconomic and structural policies as well as leading the preparation of budget support operations (loans and guarantees). Additional country experience includes Turkey as well as the countries of Southeast Europe (Serbia, Montenegro, Albania, etc) with a focus on public finances and fiscal and external sustainability.

Mr. Najdov has contributed to a number of World Bank reports, including the Southeast Europe Regional Economic Reports, Kyrgyz Republic Economic Updates, Kazakhstan Country Economic Memorandum, the Central Asia Regional Trade report, etc. Before joining the World Bank, Evgenij Najdov was with the research department of the National Bank of the Republic of Macedonia.

Mr. Najdov holds a M.Sc. in Economics from the Catholic University of Leuven, Belgium, and a B.A. in Economics from the Bosphorus University in Istanbul, Turkey.
