Ellen is currently the Global Product Specialist on Growth Entrepreneurship in the Trade and Competitiveness Global Practice of the World Bank (T&C). She has 18+ years of experience in private sector development, including a 12 year track record in developing and overseeing entrepreneurship and SME development products and programs across 70+ countries in Africa, Asia and Eastern Europe.
Ellen initiated and leads T&Cs Agribusiness Entrepreneurship Program, and was a founder of its work in digital entrepreneurship. She also manages the Innovation and Entrepreneurship multi-donor trust fund (infoDev). Prior to joining T&C, Ellen worked for the Grassroots Business Department of the International Finance Corporation (IFC), and for the Development Gateway.
Her first foray into development was with Citizens Energy Corporation’s corporate social responsibility program in Angola. Ellen has an MBA in Finance and an MA in International Affairs, focused on Sub-Saharan Africa.
