Mr. Robitaille is the World Bank Group Vice President, Information and Technology Solutions (ITS), and WBG Chief Information Officer.
Mr. Robitaille manages the WBG’s information management and information technology portfolio, which is tightly linked with the institutions’ overall strategic direction. ITS supports the World Bank Group’s twin goals of ending extreme Poverty by 2030 and boosting shared prosperity for the bottom 40% of population in every country.
He has recently completed overseeing implementation of the ITS FY15-17 Strategy, which leverages proven technology innovations to enable the organization’s diverse and decentralized workforce to more effectively communicate, collaborate, and connect with each other and with clients; and completed a highly consultative process to develop the ITS FY18-20 Strategy.
He is now focused on implementing the new strategy which will deliver solutions for the business that are flexible, fit for purpose, transformative, and secure; provide the WBG with value for money through selectivity, standardization, reliability, and an optimized IT delivery model; and deliver a high performing, secure, and resilient IT environment for the WBG.
Previously, Mr. Robitaille held several managerial positions at the World Bank at headquarters and in the field. He has deep operational knowledge of development projects and a reputation as a results-oriented manager, mentor and innovator. He has managed the Development Effectiveness Unit in the Latin America and Caribbean Region, where he led the provision of integrated and innovative services to all regional staff in the areas of operational quality, portfolio management, results, trust funds, safeguards, knowledge management and learning; served as Portfolio Manager based in Bangkok for the South East Asia hub of countries including Lao PDR, Thailand, Malaysia and Cambodia, where he oversaw the performance of the World-Bank financed portfolio; and held the positions of Regional Procurement Manager for the East Asia and Pacific Region, and Task Team Leader of various projects in the transport sector. At the Bank, Mr. Robitaille served the internal and external justice system including a three-year mandate on the Sanctions Board.
Mr. Robitaille is a Canadian national, with a Civil Engineering degree from Laval University.
