Camilo Gomez Osorio

Economist, South Asia

Camilo is the country economist for Sri Lanka and Maldives based in Colombo. Previously, he was based in the World Bank Office in Kabul, Afghanistan where he analyzed the economic impact of transition, the effect of the withdrawal of military spending and development aid to the Afghan economy. For over two years, he was also based in the World Bank Office in Jakarta, Indonesia, focusing on public finance issues in the agriculture sector. He is a Colombian national, a macro-economist with emphasis on fiscal issues, and has an academic background from the University of Chicago and Oxford University, St Antony’s College.
