Andrew Goodland is a Senior Agricultural Economist based in the World Bank office, Beijing. He is currently coordinator of the World Bank’s rural development and agriculture portfolio in Mongolia.

He leads the Bank’s support to the rural development projects that aim to improve rural communities’ livelihoods in Mongolia.  He also works on the Bank’s agricultural program in China.

He has worked at the World Bank since 2002, focusing mostly in East Asia, including China, Mongolia, Vietnam and Cambodia, responsible for investment operations and analytical work. His current areas of focus include community driven development and fiscal decentralization, rural financial services including microcredit and insurance, natural resource management, livestock sector development and disaster risk management.

Prior to joining the World Bank, he worked for a number of government and non-governmental organizations in the Caribbean, Sub-Saharan Africa and South Asia.

He holds a masters degree in Agricultural Economics from Wye College and an MBA from Judge Business School, University of Cambridge.
