1.There is a lot of further work on ARVs in "developing countries". The problem I think is the exclusive economic agenda. Specially in AIDS where any exclusiveness has lead to dead ends. If the call is for an economic research agenda on ARVs, non-economist as myself will feel not invitated and may let the economist make the agenda. I think this is not the idea of this forum. 2. In despite of the narrow angle proposed, I propose the incorparation of politic economies. Micro and macroecnomics. Neoliberalism and its impact on developing countries (and why not developed countries?) vis a vis AIDS and ARVs. Poverty and ARVs. Employment perspectives in XXI century and HIV/AIDS/ARV. 3. Who will fund the research? A joint effort among countries, institutions and persons at both sides the (misterous) line of development. 4. Great! Is my first conference on line. I must confess I am susprised by the organization. Congratulations. One more comment: Latin America is a very important region regarding HIV/AIDS and with exceptional human resources who speaks only spanish, even economist. Of course I would not suggest to open the forum in spanish. Just to think how many would contribute to the discussion. |
