| Sorry I couldn't participate more because some problem with my laptop, but the conference has been of the greatest value for me, it enlighted many subjects, and I think that the format was perfect. We are right now in Uruguay discussing the creation of a national fund to cover all the requirements, (public and private) of the HIV treatment. Our prevalence is according our sentinel studies about 2 per thousand, and as we are 3.000.000 inhabitants, we estimate that with U$S 3 a Year each, we will be able to cope with the expenses. We are already treating everybody with AIDS and some for viral load even with CD 4 above 600.. We need to work hard with the economist. because in spite of the fact that treatment and prevention are State Policies it is still very hard to get the resources to pay. |
