Oxfam UK
Oxfam aims to relieve poverty, distress and suffering; to educate people about the nature, causes and effect of poverty; and to campaign for a fairer world.

Environmental Defense Fund
Includes Rainforests and the World Bank, and Environment on the World Stage.

IDEX: International Development Exchange:
The goal of IDEX is "to build partnerships to overcome poverty and social injustice by empowering people and communities toward greater control over the resources and political and economic processes that affect their lives". This is done through small-scale grassroots development projects and education of North Americans.

The Action Coalition
is a non-profit organization dedicated to facilitating the work of individuals and organizations working towards justice, human rights, a sustainable environment, and eradicating the worst aspects of poverty.

The Progressive Directory, presented by the Institute for Global Communications: “ your gateway to environmental and progressive resources worldwide”. Consists of five connected networks: PeaceNet; EcoNet, ConflictNet, LaborNet, and WomensNet. Covers issues ranging from Indigenous Peoples, Refugees and Agriculture and Trade to Mushrooms and Mycology.

The Hungerweb: seeks to provide useful information to four publics: researchers, activists and advocates, educators and trainers, and field workers. Its aim is to help prevent and eradicate hunger and promote sustainable development by facilitating and encouraging the free exchange of ideas and information. The International Institute for Sustainable Development (IISD), provides Linkages, designed to be an electronic clearing-house for information on past and upcoming international meetings related to environment and development.

The International Development Research Centre (IDRC) in Ottawa, includes pages on Internet Sites Related to International Development. This site includes useful listings under Africa; Bilaterals, NGOs, and Social Sciences.

Virtual Library on International Development:
Contains a sampling of Internet resources of interest to people in the International Development field. The Africa library is the most developed.

The World Wide Web Virtual Library:
