Mr. James Wolfensohn, President of the World Bank, inaugurates the first local language website of the World Bank in Wolof. The event took place on April 13, 2000 during the Knowledge Fair which was held in conjunction with the Annual Spring Meetings of the World Bank and the IMF. The local language website is a service of the Indigenous Knowledge for Development Program of the Africa Region. The Indigenous Knowledge website in Wolof can be viewed in the "Knowledge Partnerships for Africa" booth at the Knowledge Fair in the Atrium, and by clicking here.
